Our Mostrox
This video game is a remake of its original mobile version, expanded, improved, and fully realized. It is a project focused on generative AI, built around a central design question:
¿what is the proper way to use and take advantage of this technology within gameplay?
One thing is to use AI as a shortcut, to reduce coding effort or automatically generate assets, which is ethically questionable and often leaves a poor impression in the final product, making it feel lazy, shallow, or like a random collage of borrowed elements. Another, very different approach is to design an experience that is born from the actual capabilities and qualities of the technology itself, resulting in a unique, niche gameplay concept, one that likely would not exist without generative AI inspiration.
¿But what is this?
Our Mostrox is a code-based prompt generator where monsters are created through discretized choices. From there, the player can externally use any of several generative technologies to transform a numerical array into narrative and imagery. That is only the first layer. Monster battles are handled in a similar way: they leverage the AI’s capacity for rational, multivariable analysis, combined with its controlled hallucinatory element, to produce results that are both objective and vivid.
Multi-Variable Análisis
Under normal circumstances, this would require two separate domains. On one side, the narrative writer, who while unable to perform multivariable simulations can craft richer and more epic stories. On the other, the programmer, who could build simulated or probabilistic systems to calculate which monster wins. In this case, AI acts as a convergence point, delivering a result that is simple, efficient, and sufficient.
This game also let you to be free to create!!!
The best part is that the user remains free to choose how to use the output. The prompt can be handed to an artist to paint the monster, or to a writer to narrate an epic battle. The system is fully capable of handling any type of creative input. It can even function as a social and comparative experiment, pitting pure human artistry against the systematic madness and aberration of machines. You even can break OurMostrox rules, writing overpower or pop culture characters!
My stance on generative AI
As a video game developer, I created this product as an experimental work. My brand is centered on a distinct, hand-drawn style, supported by years of programming experience from a time before AI existed. I do not endorse the general use of generative AI in creative fields, as it often replaces innate creativity, talent, and personal expression, while promoting laziness and a culture of immediacy. This project is an exception within my portfolio, intended to enrich it by demonstrating adaptability to new technology using it in a way that respects and leverages its true nature within gameplay.
Commands:
- Desktop: you can copy and paste data using the clipboard, you can save it manually in a TXT file if you wish.
- Web: you can download TXT files and import TXT files Draging it on the software.
- Mobile: not full supported yet :/
- You can Drag images or TXT files to load it on the software.
- The data is stored locally, so if you wish to save your monsters, export all using the main menu export button, and save that file!!!
Use / Tutorial:
- Clic on the main menú cover image.
- In the gallery go to create new monster.
- Select name, gender and particular things.
- After clic on create, go to description prompt button to obtain it.
- Paste the prompt on an external generative AI or you as a human can do the same task for yourself, only follow the prompt instructions.
- Use the set button or drag a file to import the result.
- Go to image prompt button to obtain it, or this step dont care if you draw yourself.
- Draw yourself or paste prompt on an external AI tool.
- Drag the image file on the monster page.
- Now you have a monster!!!! you can export it, fight with another or against the challenges, do a date wit someone to create a new genetical monster, all in a same way!!! prompt -> create -> import.
